Harris' Hawk (Parabuteo unicinctus) x Ferruginous Hawk (Buteo regalis)

These birds are vicious hunters that are appropriate for experienced falconers only. While quite effective in the field, their tenacity must be constantly monitored. They are better equipped than a ferruginous to fly in forested areas, and like a ferruginous and unlike a Harris', these birds are able to pick up speed while flying into the wind.
