Harris' Hawk (Parabuteo unicinctus)
- Our Sweetie x Tyrone pair throws off birds flying in their first year at ~22oz. for males, and ~32-34oz. for females. These birds gain around 10% in weight in their second year.
- The Harriet x Cyclone pair. They have young with first year flying weighs at ~24oz. for males, and 38-41oz. for females. They should gain around 2oz. in their next year of flying. These birds are not fat, in fact, they are very lean and muscular (think basketball player). There are extremes on the weights, as the female Harris' flown by Mike Kuriga is flying at 37-49oz!!! Only 3 or 4 of these exceptionally large birds are produced every year, and there is a year-long waiting list.
- The pairs located at Duncan's produce above-averave sized Harris' hawks as well. One pair produces large males, and another pair produces females with extremely large feet. One female this year flying at 35oz. has feet with a span of 5 and 1/2 in.
