Not much is known of the Guiana Crested Eagle. They live in the deepest parts of Guiana's jungles, and are only seen occasionally by those on boat rides. They are similar in appearance to a harpy eagle, but with a black-and-brown coloration, and much smaller in size. The one located at our facilities is a dark morph bird, which occurs in 1 of 5. Not only that, but it is very possible this is the only one left in captivity in the United States. A truly rare bird. As of now, there is only one known nest, which is under study by the World Center for Birds of Prey.
